REDBEARD.0 Is the trailer for a KREILKAMPNICOLL pipeline project––performance investigation––a loop within a loop––a hole within a hole––that emerged during development of 'For the Hearts Brains and Bodies of ME People' (2018). What happened then was that RMKN walked in to PortlandME's SPACE Gallery for the 'Maine Moves' 'choreolab', and the other two male-presenting dancers also wore red-beards. Later that week, RMKN noticed what seemed anecdotally to be a disproportionate number of red bearded people on the decks of lobster boats. What the heck? From there followed interest in contemporary pop-mythologies of red-beared characters, thinking through for example the Game of Thrones triumverate of Theon(Reek)Greyjoy, TyrionLannister, and TormundGiantsbane. These last three perhaps illustrate best the usual frames for redbeards aka gingers––oversensitive, quick to anger. RMKN is curious to explore quietly––What are we really? These things? What do these tales have to do with whiteness in Americas? Does this help make sense of the recent Netflix Langmores as/and Others?
